Storing blood in a standard refrigerator (temperature around 50 degrees F) will preserve HIV indefinitely. Indeed when HIV was initially identified blood stored in various facilities aroung the United States was testing. HIV was found in some samples of blood dating back more than 20 years. Of course I wonder why you would want to keep HIV active and healthy.
