Which I know it is, I live there. Why do most people still get their children Christened?

I'm expecting my first child now and hubby wants she/he christening (it doesnt bother me) as its a family tradition. Do you think thats the only reason people have it done?

I know from my point of view it makes life easier in the long run, say the child grows up and wants to get married in a church or be a God-Parent etc, they need to have been Christened and it saves them going through the humiliation of having it done as adults!

Just wondering what others thought on the subject.

We are trying to concieve since september. i had my last periods on 3rd oct and today its 23rd nov Still no periods. had 2 tests and doc asked me to wait till sat that is tommorrow. is it possible to miss periods .bcoz my cycle is like a clock . i still got negative. i am not stressed. i am just confused No weight gain, no diet changes . \So what can be reasons, i dont have any symptoms

Do they still sell Branigans crisps in the UK?

They used to do a really strong flavour Beef & Mustard in a paper bag. I know they changed to a foil bag but I haven't seen them in a couple of years.

We have tried leaving the radio on, he has the run of the house all his toys available. We have even tried shutting him in one room didnt work. He doesn't bark when we are home. But will bark / howl for hours on end. We brought a collar that woudl give off a high pitch sound when he barks but this didnt work. Our dog is a 11 year old jack russell

There is a commericial out right now that is about a video game.. The entire commercial features scenes from the game and a warrior fighting bad guys- monsters I believe; this is a fighting game. There is a song in the background, and someone mentioned the commercial to me yesterday and for the life of me, I cannot remember what the song was, neither did she. There was a television commercial about two years ago; it was a commercial for D-Skins (the things you slip onto your CDs so they won't scratch). The commercial featured a white trucker who picked up a black hitchhiker. The trucker was listening to a song, but it started skipping/scratching. The hitchhiker then took the CD out of the stereo, threw it out the window, took out one of his own CDs with a D-Skin on it, and put it in the stereo. The same song started playing, but this time it didn't scratch. They drove happily off in the semi with the song blasting.

The song had a SOUTHERN ROCK type of sound, and the lyrics went kind of like this: "Well I said I got a hot new baby / so hot she'll burn your hands / like a plate of grits and gravy /" something something something...

I've looked everywhere (and yes, I know how to search for songs on the interwub), but it just doesn't seem to exist. So I'm wondering if anyone has any personal knowledge of the song, its name or artist. Thanks!
