My sister was recently laid off after a large corporation acquired her company. She was offered a position with the new firm for less $ than she was making even though the new company's salary range for the position she was offered would accommodate her old salary. Employees with less experience & less reputation are making more $ than she was offered. If my sister accepted the lesser offer, she would no longer be able to make her house payment so she declined. She was given 12 weeks severance (to be paid by the acquired company). I know from an accounting perspective, the new company's bottom line will look good, and the old company's bottom line takes the hit for the severance pay. BUT when you put it all together at the larger corporate level, it is penny-wise and pound foolish, to let a really good employee slip away due to a very short-sighted middle management decision. I want to vent to someone high up in the food chain and know that they will read it, and maybe respond.

Save for the legendary clock or timepiece, time is a measure of thoughts for an individual. When thoughts cease, time too stops.

How does time exist for a person who is blind, who is deaf, who cant smell, who has lost the sense of touch & taste? Assuming this person was born in such a state, his mind does not receive any inputs via the senses and therefore there wouldnt be any flow of thoughts?

I'm 17 years old and my dad has not supported me in any way shape or form....i literally saw him 3 years ago when he told me he didn't want me in his life anymore. He got remarried and had a daughter....shes 4 years old n i never saw her b4. I like my last name a lot. The thing with my name is its christy then my moms maiden name then my dads last name. i was cooking chilly beans in a big stock pot and the botton burned, then I placed the chilly beans in a slow cooker. The bean are not burned it just has the smell and taste of them being burned. Can someone help me. I would like to save them if possible. To much to throw away.
