okay..im trying to explain to a 10 year old how to change a rate--say $12 for 3 lbs to a unit rate ---$ 4 per lb in the simplest, least wordy way- if i teach them by way of division...how do explain what number is the dividend and what # is the divisor...he doesnt get proportions yet and i dont want to give it before it is taught in school

How come when you get the little packs of salt and pepper the salt pack is loaded and the pepper pack barely has any in it? Isn't salt supposed to be bad for you? Then why are these people loading us down with it?

I've heard that people will react more positively to hand addressed envelopes in blue ink than they will to envelopes in black ink (the same with a written letter, note, etc.). I'm just looking for more information to back that up.

the stone of my engagement ring (which is less than a month old) shifts slightly
not that it moves or comes out, it just can slightly shift between the 4 corner fingers of it

Our Cherokee won't start and we've determined that the alternator has failed. The car has a lot of miles on it, but runs well otherwise. My husband is fairly handy - is the alternator very difficult to replace on this vehicle? It is a 4.0 liter 4X4. Thanks!
