Is life truly a gift?
I think of birthdays, christmas and other occasions when we are given gifts. If we don't like the gift, we can return it to the store.
If that is the case, why is suicide frowned upon so much. Is it not just a way of returning a gift that you don't want.
I am not for suicide as I know it has horrible effects on family members that live, but as a philosphical question, if one wanted to return the gift of life, should they not be allowed to?
I've heard stories where no person on earth didn't come to earth before telling God that yes indeed he/she wants to come to earth...in other words it was our free will. That may be, but how many times have you been asked what you want as a gift and after you receive it, you realize it's not that great and want to return it.
I don't consider life a gift. I do consider it a chore, a burden that I have to deal with.
Would love to hear some thoughts on this.
Thank you
