have to be registered, like sex offenders are? I think they should.

Let's be f*cking realistic! Most people are NOT going to tell you they have HIV or AIDS if they want to get you in bed. You can spread the virus through oral sex as well, and how many of you use protection for oral sex? If EVERYONE was using protection in the first place, HIV wouldn't be such an epidemic.

Also, HIV, with proper treatment, can sometimes go into remission or just go away. True. But it's very rare. But there is no definite "cure."

Oh, and Herpes doesn't kill people.

Yes. But if you start here, where does it end?

Why unless they go around raping people, I don't think so. They should have thier privatcy just as we (meaning people without AIDs or HIV) have. They have the responsiblity to tell someone they are going to be intimate with that they are infected, but it is also the responsiblity for people know better to protect themselves if they are going to be intimate with someone. In todays sociality people should be aware of STDs and should ask the apropreiate quetions before having sex with someone.

hmmm... that kind of hard to say because a sex offender DID something to become a sex offender they are sex offenders for a reason and some people with aids got it from a blood transfusion so it wouldn't be fair for them. I think they should but whats the point in registering? its not like we look up sex offenders everyday or when we start dating. ? I think it would be a good idea for a person with aid to register BUT i don't think its EVER going to happen because of privacy issues.

First of all, not all people get AIDS or HIV from haveing sex. Second of all, All the people I know who have AIDS/HIV < and I know enough, haveing volunteered at hospitals.>are VERY conciencious and the spread of the disease, going through it gives one insight and if they have any concious at all they certainly wouldn't wish it on anyone else. and Lastly, it is an invasion of personal rights, and thanks to the medical act agenst the BIll of Rights, and of course agenst the law.

After all they did NOT I assure you get AIDS/HIV on purpose, and they are people and the end of the day, albait people with a disease, and should be treated with their God/Country given rights.

Why dont u also register ppl with Hepatitis, common cold, herpes, jay walked, double parked etc.

You cant punish people for what they havnt done (transmitted the disease to someone else).

Maybe you should if you knowingly have HIV and still had sex with somebody.

Btw: HIV is the virus, AIDS is a condition. People can have HIV and not AIDS and still be infectious.

I don't think they should.. I think that people should just be careful and use condoms and such.... I've never actually met a person with aids.. or maybe I have and didn't know, but I've never caught anything.. so I think as long as you wear protection you are pretty safe.. :)

There is a law that protects patients privacy in USA (was it HIPPA?)
No one should be judged by they health problems...although I also think that there should be something that protects others from getting infected.
I know that in state of FL is second degree Felony to knowingly spread an disease...

Not like offenders, but they should be on some sort of register, so that the public can be a where of them and who they are. If you found that you could be in a possible relationship with someone, I think you should be able to protect yourself, and check to see if they are on some sort of high health risk file.

You got a good idea there.

I don't think they should have to be registered for an illness, but I do believe they should be forced to let any sexual partners know, and if they knowingly do not say anything, there should be laws to protect uninfected citizens, or should I say newly infected citizens, and charges should be filed and punishment rendered to those who deserve it.

I do know from watching SVU Law and Order, one episode they had a case where they put this guy away because he knowingly gave the virus to someone else. that's against the law because it is like killing someone if you don't inform them. I dunno about registering them.I think people do make it confidental, like they do when you give blood. So I'm not sure if that will happen.

No, maybe crazy psycho people would treat them bad and discriminate against them. Some people are horrible. There has to be a better way.
