My daughter is 17 and will soon be transitioning into adulthood. As a developmentally disabled adult I was wondering if there are some states that offer better services or benefits to assist the disabled in terms of assisted living, vocational rehab. etc.

I was also wondering if there are other families out there that have any insight into what happens as a child with a disability transitions into adulthood? How your family copes with the financial strain? What help you get with providing a care giver to an adult who cannot be alone?

All other things being equal, what offers the best quality of life: living in a large urban area (lots of amenities, but lots of stresses), a small-to-medium urban centre or a rural area? Put aside your prejudices and try to be objective. Points for good grammar.

I AM AT MY WITS END,my partner is 47 and i am 27..he started working for himself 4 years ago working from home doing web-design..but he,s in his office at home all day and all night,and at weekends..i get no help with the children and our sex life is non existance,i would like to leave,but i do not earn a full tiem wage..i have been unhappy for 4 years now..he quit heavy drinking 4 months ago and spends even more time in the office now.

Dont you think that some of answers given in all sections of this forum are downright hazedous to your health and well being(Pinch of salt comes to mind) on the other hand some have been very welcome good advice and humerouse.But not wanting to insult anyone there are ppl on here with limited itelegence.

The truck sit for about 3 years and I got it to start. now when I let it idel at about 1500rpm's it has a miss. And when I try to drive it it will not accept the gas and runs really rough.
When it idels at 1500rpm the tail pipe gets cherry red. I don't have the tail pipe or converter hooked up, so I know the converter is not stopped up. What should I look for with this problem.
