I'm a New Zealander with indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I'd like to live in the south of France initially, and learn the language fluently - spoken and written. Legal-wise, is this achieveable? (especially as I need to work) Ideally I'd like to work for an ex-pat Brit (speak English), but study and live with French-speakers. Also, where would anyone suggest going to study?

I've been informed that, even if I clear my pc's history and delete temporary history files and cookies, there may still be hidden files kicking about my computer? If this is so, how do you locate these or delete them? Is there a program I can use, or can i do this manually (beaing in mind I'm not mega PC literate!)

For example - I was listening to some politician asking why more people don't vote in by-elections or if it comes to that General Elections. I would put it to them - for the same reason that the Millenium dome was not very successful at the turn of the century celebrations - you wern't allowed to take your car - despite there being massive car parks there. By the same token if I gave you the choice of voting procedures:- a) go to dusty school hall as usual or b) press a b or c on your mobile phone - which one do you think people would go for.

It never ceases to amaze me just how powerful and absolute this law is - technology has come along in leaps and bounds because of it - why don't they run society this way ? Why don't they make life more convenient instead of filling it up with ever more regulations that people don't want or need. The law of convenience is a natural law - it is prevelant in nature - everywhere you look and yet we continue to fight its inevitable path ?

last night while reading through some answers, my tooth suddenly started to ache, i immediately took 2 paracetomol but it continued to get worse and worse, the pain was soooo intense, my whole body was shaking, after an hr it started to die down so finally went to bed, but still there this morning and now. i have taken more paracetomol but im 34 weeks pregnant and wondered ir any one has a sure fire and QUICK way to get rid of it once and for all!!

If a woman mugs a man at knifepoint and demands his wallet/possessions, is it ok for him to punch her to knock her out, so he can get away without giving up his belongings? If you saw a man hit a woman in that situation, what would you think of him? Would you see him as a hero, a woman beater, or something else?
