For example - I was listening to some politician asking why more people don't vote in by-elections or if it comes to that General Elections. I would put it to them - for the same reason that the Millenium dome was not very successful at the turn of the century celebrations - you wern't allowed to take your car - despite there being massive car parks there. By the same token if I gave you the choice of voting procedures:- a) go to dusty school hall as usual or b) press a b or c on your mobile phone - which one do you think people would go for.

It never ceases to amaze me just how powerful and absolute this law is - technology has come along in leaps and bounds because of it - why don't they run society this way ? Why don't they make life more convenient instead of filling it up with ever more regulations that people don't want or need. The law of convenience is a natural law - it is prevelant in nature - everywhere you look and yet we continue to fight its inevitable path ?

Voting methods are in the dark ages. You'd think the Florida fiasco would have changed everything by the next election, but those ballots are still in use!

American Idol knows how to count votes. How hard would it be to have a voter enter their number and restrict them to one vote? There would be voter fraud as people would get others numbers and vote for them, but there is fraud now too.
