If you're pregnant then dental treatment should be free! Get yourself to your nearest NHS walk-in centre and don't leave until they do something (you may have a long wait, so take food and something to read!). You can "find your nearest..." on the NHS website by typing in your postcode. Check the dentists too, ring round all of them to see if any are taking on new NHS patients and tell them you are pregnant!
The key is just not to take "No" for an answer -especially if you are there face to face -they will have to help you if you don't leave!
Good luck, I hope you get it fixed, toothache is the worst.

You might need a root canal or an extraction. The tooth might be infected. Get it X-rayed by a good dentist and hopefully s/he will show you a darkened area on the X-ray if it is infected. I wouldn't mention the high intensity of the pain because it might increase the chance s/he will say that my tooth is infected whether it is or not. Myself I have gotten probably better at evaluating the X-rays for infection than the standard dentist.
Before seeing the dentist, work on it yourself, at least by brushing and maybe also by delicate flossing and using antiseptic mouthwash. I have a toothbrush sanitizer but you might want to put the toothbrush head in antiseptic mouthwash for about an hour before using it to kill old bacteria and viruses.

I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago, my tooth hurt like hell I took some tylonal which barrelly helped at all and finally a couple hours later I finally got to sleep. The next morning I had a little pain but nearly as bad, after a seconds night's rest the pain was completely gone though.
You should probably go to a dentist, as should I but I know I probably have several cavities and I can't afford to pay for them so I'm putting it off...

The only way to know what is going on is to go to the dentist. You will need clearance from your OBGYN for xrays, etc because you are in the 3rd trimester and we won't normally do treatment other than emergency treatment (if absolutely necessary) during that phase. But you must be evaluated by a dentist first. I wish there was a better and easier answer but unfortunately that's what you have to do. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming delivery!!

Yes honey. You need a root canal because it sounds like a root is dying. Do you notice that it happens right after you eat or drink practically anything? Your nerve is exposed. You won't get rid of that pain until a root canal is done. In the meantime, go to your local drug store and get the little kit for temporary fillings. Use it when there is no pain and it won't let sugars or cold or hot send you on that white knuckle ride of pain. I feel for you honey and congratulations on your upcoming little arrival. You probably should stop taking pain meds like that. Try to get to see the dentist. Actually, an endodontist is probably who you should see. They are sticky about payment plans depending on where you live. This answer pertains if the pain comes on like a freight train and then subsides where you have no pain until you eat or drink something again. Hope this helps. :)

The only way to get rid for good is to go dentist.
Otherwise put sum whiskey on a cotton bud and dab it around the area of the bad tooth. It will ease the pain for a little while.
Congrats and good luck with the baby!

If you're in the UK, as a pregnant woman all dental work should be free on the NHS.
So go and see a dentist, now; and make sure you tell them you are pregnant.

You must go to the emergency dental practice that another person put in answers for you! I had a tooth out 2 days ago and put an end to months of toothache.
