The manager said all us girls dance there at our own risk and the club is not reponsible for injuries on the stage. Is this true? Right now she doesn't have the money for med treatment. Is there maybe a lawyer out there or someone who may know something about this?!

It is a place of work. Therefore it is covered by work laws. I believe that worker's comp should cover it.

Of course the employer doesn't have to pay anything unless the pole broke or something. If it was not negligence then she is gonna have to foot the bill. But she can get worker's comp and the company has to pay for that.

I think the manager is right....sad but true.Your friend may have hurt herself while in his club, but the injury wasn't caused by anyone working there,it was an accident. They can do nothing about that. Therefore you can't put the blame on them. The fact that your friend doesn't have the money(insurance???)to pay for the treatment is sad,but not their responsibillity...

As long as you didn't sign anything that said the club is not responsible for any injuries you will be able to obtain a lawyer and sue them. But if she can't afford the medical treatment I don't know how she will be able to afford the lawyer.
