There are many similarities between America and the descriptions of Babylon in Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 18. It is possible there will be multiple fulfillments of those passages, with America being only one. If America is the Babylon of Jeremiah 50, a vicious attack from the north will destroy the country (50:3, 9, 41 and 51:48). The only countries north of America are Canada and Russia, and the latter is the better candidate for military aggression against us. If Russia will invade America in the future, it must be before God destroys the Russian army in Israel!

This is a position held by folks who agree with a very destructive philosophy, known as "Replacement Theology." This is the belief that the Christian Church has "replaced" the Jews because of their unbelief in Jesus Christ; as such, the Church receives all the blessings promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It is pure trash and is easily disproved by a careful reading of Scripture. These same folks teach that Americans are descended from Manassah and the British from Ephraim. Again, pure nonsense and easily disproved.

The "great and mightly nation" mentioned by God at Genesis 18:18 is, without a doubt, Israel.

RE: your later questions, you must remember that God's eye will always be on Israel. Whenever you read "north, south, east or west" in Scripture, God is always using Israel or Jerusalem as the center point. Also, remember that the invasion described in Rev. 18 destroys a city (Rev. 17:18), not a nation. And finally, Jeremiah 50:9 clarifies that more than one nation is involved in this invasion of Babylon.

Study Daniel 11 for further insight into this northern invasion.

Following the Rapture of the church, America will no doubt be greatly weakened; our support of Israel will also be nearly non-existant. I am convinced that the only reference to America in all of Scripture may be found at Ezekiel 38:13 -- we are one of the "young lions" of Tarshish, also known as the British Empire.

Peace.

NO!
Abraham's first born bore 12 nations in the middle east!
Iraq, Iran, Syria are but 3 of the 12 nations!

But many of Great Britain and America are of the 10 tribes of Israel!

God is talking about the nation Israel. I am assuming that this will be the Israel that will come out of the Great Tribulation, the Israel that will finally receive Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Israel that will rise up against the Antichrist and defeat Satan at Armageddon.

do you realize how many uneducated answers or rationale from just trying to take a text in english out of context?

when you read "The Great Egyptian Year" you see the names of bible characters had dual meaning...or implied spiritual inuendos

much of this poetry meaning or concept is lost when translated into Ye Olde King James

and if you take it literaly, you get all kinds of whack ideas

if you think about it, Ibrahm simply told people what is god said and set out to displace the current residents using real estate tactics

we don't know what was said way back when, we do know tutMoses was an egyptian prince who also wrote his own religion and managed to put egyptial laws and rituals into it, put his brother in charge Arun and then make rules about intermarrying, taking the Hebrews and Egyptian priests (levites) on a long journey of racism and dark and light conotations of good and evil, etc..

Abraham himself is not without an Egyptian root given that the name, in Kemetic, means "the servant of Ra's will". AB [desire or will], Ra [the power of the Divine that causes the sun to shine], IM [fire/light], Hem [servant].

This connection with Ra is strengthened further with the name Isaac, which in Hebrew is YSAK. Isaac, according to the story, was to be burnt as an offering to God. The Kemetic YS [place], AKH [burnt offring] are the keys here. Also God stays the hand of Abraham at the last moment and provides a lamb; this indicates that the zodiacal calendar was in the Age of the Ram.

Other parallels are Ishmael and Isaac, the warring twins that feature prominently in Egyptian spiritual thought; Isaac's marriage to Rebecca - the brother-sister/cousin pairing of Yusir and Auset/Isis and then there is Jacob, both as "Jacob" [Kem. YA-QEB - the heavenly circuit of Ra]. Jacob changes his name to Israel: Kem YS-RA-IR - Ys (place), Ra (sun), IR (create), i.e. the place Ra created i.e. a place in Amenta, where souls, having been justified by Yusir, climb a ladder to Ra's boat. This is the source of the biblical Jacob's Ladder.

Then we come to Joseph. Now needless to say the biblical story is historicised mythology, copied from two ancient Kemetic legends. However, the picture becomes clearer when decoded; Joseph is YUSUPH in Hebrew, Jacob/Israel's favourite son. In Egyptian this name can be taken in three forms: YU-SEFI, YIU-SEFI, YU-SEP. YU means "to come", SEFI - "child/son", thus YU-SEFI is "the ever coming son", Heru/Horus the Christ [Karast], Horus who dawns every day as the morning Sun [of God]. YU is also YIU, the Golden Acs - whose visible emblem is the sun. Joseph [YIU-SIF] then, is the Son of YIU. Further, SEP is a name of Yusir so that YU-SEP is "Yusir/Osiris, the Coming One", who in this guise is really Heru/Horus.
