If a woman mugs a man at knifepoint and demands his wallet/possessions, is it ok for him to punch her to knock her out, so he can get away without giving up his belongings? If you saw a man hit a woman in that situation, what would you think of him? Would you see him as a hero, a woman beater, or something else? And what would you do if you saw that situation take place?

Absolutely! I'm a woman, and it doesn't matter. Man or woman, you have the right to defend yourself. I would not see him as a hero or woman beater- just someone with a sense of self-preservation, who defended himself from an act of violence. I would stick around, as a witness, to make sure the law knew who was the aggressor.

It doesn't matter whether it's okay or not, the male would LOSE!!!! No judge, no prosecuting attorney or a selected jury will believe that the woman attacked the man. I used to be the head doorman (bouncer) at a bar. We knew that no matter how provoked we were, if we even pushed or shoved the woman and she yelled "assault", we would lose in court. She shows up to court in a Pollyanna dress and bats her eyelashes at the judge and jury and says "what? little old me?" and you lose. God help the male that gets a female judge or female prosecuting attorney in these cases. I know of defense lawyers that just tell their male clients to plead guilty and take the suspended sentence and the court decreed counseling even if they are innocent. That's because these lawyers have seen too many cases where an innocent male was found guilty and then he gets a jail sentence. They tell their clients not even to take the chance.

The answer to your question SHOULD BE "yes it's okay to hit a woman in self defense or in the situations you outlined." The reality is that in our politically correct society, even with witnesses, a male stands a good chance of losing in court and in the minds of people when he hits a woman.

I would think that you are defending yourself from what you perceive as a life threatening situation. I would knock her out cold and/or disable her in some way and hold her while you call the police on your cell. Letting her get away is not a good idea.
If I saw it take place, I would call the police to report that a man was being robbed, that the man disarmed and disabled and was now holding the assailant and to please hurry to the scene. The sex of the perp is of no regard. I would then assist the man in kicking the **** out of the assailant.

What would I think of a man hitting a woman who was attempting to rob him? I'd think that he needs to d whatever to defend himself and it's irrelevant whther the assailant is male or female. I wouldn't see him as a hero or woman beater, I'd see him as someone trying to protect himself. But here's the twist - I don't believe anyone should hit another person unless life is being threatened. Possessions are worthless if you lose your life trying to protect what's yours and they can be replaced - your life can't

I believe that it would be alright for him to hit her and let me explain why. A woman that should go and mug a man in a so rapidly way should have a great strength to do that. I think that he should defence his self. For example make some defence techniques and hit her easily just to get away. That's all!

i think if a woman puts her self in a mans place she deserfves to be hit. so if she did indeed try to mug a man, heck yea knock her out. i dont think he would be a hero but atleast he keeps his stuff and she gets what she deserves. a man should never hit a woman unless provoked, either by like you said, or if she is dumb enough to hit first. i have never been hit by a man mostly because i know my place in this world

Of course. You would be acting in self defence. Unfortunately the society we live in nowadays may make it harder for you to prove this to the police as they might think you were using this as an excuse and charge you anyway. Why would it be any different if it was a woman though in this world of equailtes? Mind you, the sort of woman who would do that is more likely going to be able to rip your head off anyway so watch out for those prison tats. ;)

Anyone of any sex or age pulls a blade on me not only can they expect a punch in the face but then a right good kicking and stabbed in the butt repeatedly for good measure. If I've lost my temper they can expect far worse.
