I saw this answer to a similar question by someone:
To make it simple:- Jesus is 2nd in the trinity, father being 1st, ghost being 3rd. each is god. jesus is father and son, the ghost is neither father or son but both. the son was begotten by the father but existed before he was begotten. the ghost preceded from the father & the son but was equal to the father and son before he existed but he is the same age as the other two as they are the same god so it is declared the father is god, son is god, holy ghost is god and these three gods make one god. so according to celestial mathematics once one is three, and three time one is one and if we take two from three one is left with two remainder and if we add the two to one instead of three we get one. and then we wonder WTF!!!!
Is it any suprise Augustine said it was irrational (while still believing it)
