How about making something? My youngest daughter's Godmother mad her a bib with a cake and 1 candle on it. She wore it on her first birthday. I still have it. And it's been 12 years since my daughter has worn it. She will get this bib when she has kids unless she wants it sooner. Homemade gifts are always a treat to most people because heart and soul were put into the creation of it.

My daughters' favorite gifts on their first birthdays were: a rocking horse, Tickle me Elmo, and this Fisher-Price fishbowl that had balls to put in and take out--played calypso music. Just go to the toy aisle, all the toys are labeled. You need to buy her something that says 9-18 months.

Instead of something materialistic...try a special time together.... a play park...macdonalds lunch...this way the child gets a special memory and the parents get a break and you will have had some special time...all win! Kids dont remember gifts....they do remember special memories..... I have 3 children...we've allready decided..no gifts this christmas and are trying to book a vacation....this they will remember their whole life...NOT what they opened up on christmas morning.... good luck

Get her a nice big white teddy bear that she can cuddle and have fun with. Everyone else will get her the "cute" outfits. You be different and give her a soft, cuddly bear.

Chow!!
