I'm Filipino and it annoys me when I read something clearly false posted by someone who has limited experience or knowledge about the Philippines. It annoys me even more when the asker doesn't have contact info where I can at least msg them and set them straight.

Examples:
Some girl in Texas thinks the Americans liberated the Philippines from Spain then gave it back to Spain after WWII. (Arghhhhhhhh...)
Some girl lumped Pinoys with all other Asians and generalized that Filipino men are domineering towards all women. (How's we end up with 2 female presidents then?)

I don't get annoyed when some yahoo says something completely stupid like all Pinoys are whores. Everyone can tell they're just being dumb. I'm more annoyed by people who claim to know the Philippines but end up spreading stupid misconceptions that get passed on.

So I'm looking for other examples on Y!A of someone getting the story wrong about Pinoys. I'll keep extending this question so I we can compile a list.

When I was a teen I remember a boy had to be taken away from a chaperoned party in an ambulance for alcohol poisoning. The boy looked like death. His face was ashen gray. (Somebody thought it was funny to toss his unconscious body behind a fence. Luckily, some else found him and got him medical attention.) Because he got medical treatment, he was OK.

Kids are exposed to everything they shouldn't be through these 2 mediums. I cant blame the parents entirely cos the invention of these 2 devices dont accommodate for the safety of our children in the first place. Kids are totally messed up nowdays & I think its simply too late to re-design cellular communication & the internet as they both also form part of business & income for basically everybody.

I was only diagnosed Type 2 last month. I know to have small meals throughout the day as opposed to three large ones. I'm getting used to the kinds of foods I'm supposed to be eating. For example, when I caved and had some pasta, I ended up sleeping for over 15 hours. Thank God it was a weekend.

But my problem is this, even when I have a good snack before bed, I wake up like clockwork, at four in the morning when my blood sugar crashes. Should I eat something, I'll want to sleep past noon. If I don't eat anything I can't get back to sleep. Either way I'm a walking zombie. Help!

I've had a life of hell...
