I've been in counseling and on medications for three years, diagnosed with bipolar II and panic disorder & PTSD. I accept the diagnoses, as there's a clear family history. There's no doubt the meds have helped me. But often I come away from therapy sessions (with a counselor I really like) with a feeling that putting the suggested skills, according to a secular mental health view, would be in opposition to what the bible says.

For example, I seems to attract individuals who are needy, and guess I'm an easy mark. I have a tendency to take on people as "projects" when they're down & out, or I feel they are vulnerable, alone or have been taken advantage of. End result is that they become very dependent, and I soon begin to feel trapped and not liking them very much. To the world, the simple solution is to remove myself from these situations, but in my own heart that often feels like an unmerciful concept according to scripture. I get confused. I wonder if I should just pray. Thoughts?

i heard that it costs about 10,000$ to adopt a child and then youve got to wait a long time before even being able to take care of that child....my question is..why is that so , dont they want the child to grow up happy ? dont they want more people to adopt ? if it costs that much and it takes that long , some loving husband and wife wont be able to take that child home because they cant afford that much at the time without saving up months and months of paychecks..not like they are poor or anything but bills and food are priority and there isnt exactly 10,000 left over..
why do they want that much money anyways ? and why do they wait so long ? cant they just screen the possible parents to see if they are good people etc in 1 month or less ?

The updates download OK but then they all fail when it try to install them. I have win 2000 SP4

I get this error message.
Problem: A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed

What problem could it be? I have anti-virus and anti-spyware could it be a Windows or firewall (I use Zonealarm) problem?

My father and I have had a very rocky relationship throughout my life. He was emotionally absent when I was growing up and even more so now. He wants to pretend there are no problems in our family. He doesn't want to bother with anything when he comes home, he just wants a beer, dinner, and to go to bed. That's his perfect life. I revealed to him that I was raped, hoping to have him try to help me and make me feel that he still loved me, but he blew it off. It was never mentioned again. He doesn't want to bother with it. I am now angrier at him for ignoring it than I am at the rapist. I now fight with my father constently, but that's not I'm supposed to be doing. I'm supposed to pretend that everything is perfect in my life so everything will be perfect in his. I try to move on from this, but everything he does or says just ignites that anger again and I act ugly towards him. I'm not allowed to bring up my rape again (said to me by my mother) or to upset him.

When I say hate, I mean hate with a fury. She is the kindest most loving person on one hand, but then lets the pressures of life past and present fester into an explosion of cursing God, work, renters, her life, her son, me, etc. Screaming how she hates each, and wants to just kill herself. I know her pressures are real. I know she's mad at God for being a widow, I know what ever the perticular "trigger" is that day is something anoying. I also know a long running list of bad dicisions is slowly bleeding the life out of her. What I don't know is why she is admired and loved (as wonderful) by so many people at her job putting on one face and attitude and then comes home and is a holy terror to herself and family when she gets home. The customers and coworkers are just shallow aquaintinces, but the ones at home that love and support her (reguardless) are the very ones she is hurting (other than herself). Fortunately she isn't physical with her violence. I'm at my witts end, please help!
