I have a hard drive from a previous computer, it was the primary hard drive that booted the computer up and everything. How, if at all, will that effect if i want to hook it up to a new computer to get my files off?

Like, will it try and boot windows or anything?
or if i put it in the slave spot will it just automattically reconize it as just another memory source?

I am looking for anyone with information on the surname of Nusli. I know they were originally from Switzerland. They were forced out and some went to Germany and some went to either Canada or the USA. In Germany the name was changed to Nisley and in Canada or USA it was changed to Nissley. There is a story that some were changed to Nestle but I am not sure of the accuracy of that story. I do know that the Nusli's in Switzerland were butchers and it shows on the family crest. Any information would be helpful.
