I am looking for anyone with information on the surname of Nusli. I know they were originally from Switzerland. They were forced out and some went to Germany and some went to either Canada or the USA. In Germany the name was changed to Nisley and in Canada or USA it was changed to Nissley. There is a story that some were changed to Nestle but I am not sure of the accuracy of that story. I do know that the Nusli's in Switzerland were butchers and it shows on the family crest. Any information would be helpful.

Ummm. yes there is such a thing as a family crest. My uncle has a picture of ours. A friend of mine has a ring with hers on it. If you want to insult someone I suggest you look somewhere else.

If I had the answer why would I have posted a question? You have to start somewhere don't you?

Well, I found an interesting website that states "Nüssli" was transferred into "Nisley" (the surname Nusli does not exist).

The mentioned village of origin "Zell ZH" has an own website, but it does not offer images of the crests of the original families there. I'm sure they'll react if you fill out the "Kontakt" form and ask for "Familienwappen Nüssli".

(crest = Wappen)

There is no such thing as a family crest. If you expect to do any real genealogy, you should do your homework.

Dear Mr. Zapple and Christi:
Hello.
Mr. Zapple, your reply to Christi's question caught my eye.

The tone of your comment and the actual content of what you
said to her, piqued me enough to write this response of my own.

Please click on the urls below in the main body of my anwer.

With all due respects to the person who wrote the original comment, notedly you Mr. Zapple, I have disagree with the bluntly written assertian that you have posted here.

A google search string would have immediately revealed that your assertion is erroneous and provided you with information on family crests that you appear not to presently have.

Additional information on family crests can be accessed by clicking on:

On a person note, I am wearing a signet ring on my left hand bearing the Skowronski family crest which dates back to the 14th century. My maternal family crest dates back to the 12th century and it is even older than that of my father's family. I find your comment to be offensive. I feel compelled to make this fact bluntly clear. For this personal aside comment I make no apologies.

To categorically make blanket statements without double and triple checking facts runs the risk of making a person appear to be ignorant of the topic on which she or he writes. Such is the case here.

Family Crests are very old. They are a common stance in Europe and many even
in the United States hold them in high regard whether they personally have a family crest or not.

Respectfully yours I remain,
