It's probably nothing but I would have her hearing check just to make sure she is hearing everything. Sometimes if children were bother with ear infections this can cause a problem that will eventually clear up. Just to be on the safe side, take her to the doctor to have her hearing checked.

Please don't worry all children develop at different rates it's what makes them individual. If she understands you then there is probably not a problem with her hearing. Once your child starts to talk their will be no stopping them . The good positive thing is your child is your child attempts to reply. She will get their so please don't worry. If you want to put your mind at rest go to the family centre I'm sure a health visitor will help put your mind at rest. In the mean time enjoy her childhood they grow up so fast:)

do you give her every thing she wants without her saying the words somtimes children dont speak because they dont have to people, guess what they want befor they have the chance to speak ask the child questions and wait for answers then corect every time so as they learn what is the wrong way to say somthing, keep repeating the words that are not clear, try to teach your child nursary rhymes as well, they are good for improving vocabulary.. good luck

My son is 3 and he had the same problem. I had his hearing checked and it was ok so I put him in speech therapy for 6 months and his speech has really improved. Whether you put her in speech or not, she'll learn to speak better eventually. Just work with her any chance you get.

If you're concerned see your health visitor but it's quite normal, every child develops at a different rate. If she understands and responds I wouldn't worry too much.

i have the same problem with my little girl as well. this is what i am doing to help her. contacted my health visitor and referred her to speech and laugue therapy. it takes a while but worth it. in the house i have flash cards with things like dog and cat on them. i show them to my little girl and said it once she said it she was allowed the card. this was really good for my daughter now we are doing things like 'this is a dog' to help talk. hope you find this useful. PS sorry about the spelling
