In simplicity, 'Circular Reasoning' is to assume a truth, and confirm that assumption with evidence that is also only true if the assumption is.

There is a theory that homsexuality is genetic. Not to the fault of anyone, but such a theory can hardly be proven by tangible evidence. However, some have "discovered" evidence based on circular reasoning. For instance:

- Because a certain percentage of todays population is "genetically" homosexual, this same percentage of people were homosexual throughout time, (and perhaps repressed by social standards). However, this assumes, not proves, homosexuality is genetic.

- X% of all identical twins to homosexuals are homosexual. However, most twins are close and influence one another. Hardly tangible evidence.

- There is homosexuality in nature. However, most animals thrive on instinct and competition. Failure to find a suitable and willing mate could lead animals to unnatural sexual behavior.

Italy's goals so far have been scored by 10 (by my calculations) different players. 11 if you count Zaccardo's own goal for the USA. Only Luca Toni has scored two. Is this a record in the World Cup?? I think it's pretty cool, France will have to mark all 11 of them!

What is the record amount of hurricanes or typhoons in one season? If they name them in the order of the alphabet, which hurricane has the highest alphabetical value? (if one can put it that way). If there have been more than 26 hurricanes in a season, do they start with the letter "A" again?

First, I am not talking about second hand smoke, so please don't tell me that you smoke outside, or never around your child, because that is not the question.

I think everyone knows that the most powerful teaching method we have with children in “leading by example” or “role modelling”. A parent who smokes is teaching their kid(s) that smoking is not only acceptable, but that their protector/provider considers smoking an activity of value. You can tell your kids not to smoke until your blue in the face (and black in the lungs) but your actions speak much louder than words. And, since our most powerful sense is smell, not sight, your kid(s) does not need to see you smoke to know you smoke. Essentially, smokers are teaching their kids how to kill themselves.

Please do not throw at me comparisons with other substance abuse issues, or things that are worse than smoking, because that is not my question. My question is:

If a smoker is role modelling behaviour for their kid(s) that can potentially kill them, is that not totally irresponsible? If not, why not?

I'm going to see Avenue Q and Spamalot in a couple of weeks, on separate days, both starting at 8pm. Where is a good place to get a late dinner afterwards that is not too hard to get to? I'd like to eat in a place that is not more than around $30 per plate. If you mention a place, please let me know if I'll need reservations if you can. Thanks!

Matthew 16:

18: "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

. . .

23: "But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

Is there some other explanation? Is the bible lying?

Or, are Christians really following Satan?
