Hearings are ongoing and the Conference between House and Senate, if any, can't start until after the hearings. However, there was another procedural problem that kept the Senate from sending their bill to the House. Frist and Reid struck a deal to let the Bill progress, but it would have required all the Senators to agree at least not to fight it.
Senators Sessions and DeMint refuse to agree.
Sessions says he isn't sure that the "rewriting of the Bill" would be best done in conference. Frist and Reid's deal leaves them publicly holding up the show, and Frist and Reid are hoping public pressure will make them budge.
I hope not. I think the Senate Bill needs to be ripped into shreds and burned. If you think Senators Sessions and DeMint are doing a good job, will you let them know?
