I have had two prior surgeries to remove ruptured discs in the lumbar region of my back. The doctor is now talking about doing a fusion. I have researched Charite (pronounced Share-a-tay) and believe this might be better in my case. Any opinions? I found out about this after I spoke with him last and I'm going to bring it up on my next appointment. I do have degenerative disc disease but don't know the extent of it.

I don't know whether this would be an extraordinarily bad idea or not. How do I bring this up with him?

My friend is getting married in August its all quite rushed. But today i received a gift card for people to go to a big department store and buy them gifts. The store itself is quite expensive and I cannot afford that much as we are moving house around the time of the wedding also being bridesmaid they want us to pay for our own dresses and have alot to pay out also the store is quite away and you cannot purchase the gifts on line. Do you think gift vouchers for this store would be appropriate as a gift and how much?

Last night the wife and I went to our daughter's school to get a year end progress report. We, and all the other parents, were told there would no longer be a grade school honor roll printed in the local paper because it's not fair to the kids that didn't make it. I was steamed. Now we can't acknowledge what our kids achieve academically?
Then for my daughter's b-day party she could not pass out invites in class. They had to be mailed, so as not to hurt feelings of the uninvited. This is up there with everyone gets a card on Valentine's Day. Argh!
Also the other day my daughter participated in some competitons at school... and came home with a "participant ribbon". EVERYONE gets a ribbon!
BUT... the real world doesn't work like this. Better they find that out now then when they graduate high school or college.
Am I just too much of a hard @ss? When I was a kid I survived not getting cards or ribbons. It's a part of life.
How do you feel about this issue?

So I am at the stage when I still feel the heavy burden of Christmas meals. Yes, in the mid of June... I know it's awful. I was out with my friends this other night and felt old, tired and overweight, not atractive at all. I've looked gorgeous, I watched last summer's photos one day and fell for myself, but It's all hidden under a layer of some soft, white substance (read-fat). So this is the third day when I:
1) Eat wholegrain cereal with low fat milk in breakfast, rice or boiled potatoes with fish or chicken for lkunch and cherries, melon or other fruit in dinner
2) I walk the long distance from work to home
3) drink around 8 big cups of green tea per day
4) around 2 l water every day
5) do resistance exercises at home like dumbbells and sit ups, as well as some yoga
6) cover myself with a lotion that says to rise elasticity of the skin...
SHALL I BE SAVED AND ADORED BY MEN AGAIN?

I have to get my gallbladder removed. I have read that it is harder to break down fats, and you might get diareah for a while afterwards. I was just wondering if it was more likely to lose weight because of the diareah or gain weight because of not being able to break the fats down a quickly? Are there any other side effects?

I don't understand why more people aren't embarrassed by their obvious poor spelling and grammar skills?
Why won't people take the time to at least use the spell check if they are too lazy to use a dictionary?
Have we become that nonchalant about the image we present to others? And if so ... why is this happening in our sociey?

For a couple of months I had UV gel artificial nails to which I took them off myself. Now my fingernails are a really bright yellow colour. What, if anything, can I do to get rid of them as I don't want to wait for them to grow out and I am fed up hiding them with nail polish?
