The pharms that make the diet pills containing ephedra are wary of lawsuits. Mixing ephedra with caffeine can cause seizures and too often death. Since most people aren't willing to cut out caffeine, even to lose weight or get in shape, putting ephedra on the shelf is a risky venture... even with warning labels.
I haven't seen a reduction of pseudo-ephedrine on the the shelfs, despite the rising use in making meth with it.
In fact, your question makes me wonder why ephedra is so dangerous with caffeine when pseudo-ephedrine apparently isn't... or may be it is and they just don't talk about it? Think I'll post that one and see if anyone knows...

Because ephedra, the precursor to ephedrine was banned, many companies are reluctant to stock it again. First, they need insurance to manufacture it. Second, if it gets banned again, they don't want to get stuck holding excess inventory.
If you want the strongest ephedra product available (the kind the FDA banned), get it now, before it gets taken off the market again.
