When we visited Washington D.C. a couple weeks ago, we went to see the White House and there was people on the roof all in black and they looked scary. Are there to shoot anyone that goes past the black fence or something?

I am basically looking for a breakdown of the pros and cons of renting an apartment in the various areas. We'd like to live near a metro line so I don't have to drive to work. We don't have kids currently but will in the future. I appreciate any helpful responses. Thanks!

My boyfriend recently relocated to Maryland. I will be visiting him for New Years and we were looking for something to do. We are an "urban" couple" and enjoy the city life...Any suggestions? Something kind of romantic would be nice....Dancing too. We are in our 30's if that means anything...

I'd be going to Washington DC alone. Will it be a good idea to travel by just Metro rail and walk around by myself or joining a tour? I'm considering the Old Trolley Tour.. Any advice? Thanks.
