Little known fact - there were plans to move George from Mt Vernon resting place (called Grant's tomb) to Washington - under the dome of the Capitol Building - which is the EXACT center of the DC box -

BUT he did not want such recognition - and now the room is used to house the funeral bier where dignitaries lie in state in the Capitol.

So The Capitol is like the Garden of Gethsemane -
