Thank you!

I currently live in Florida now, but I will be moving (most likely) into this region in August to get closer to home (WA), amung many other reasons like weather, landscape, architecture (my profession), proximity to Pacific Ocean, outdoor activities, more casual people, etc. I've begun a search for a great town, not too big not too small, but thought I should weigh out the benefits of each State's residency. For example, I know Oregon does not have sales tax. Please give me your opinion if you are a resident of this area or know it well, in concerns to property & income tax, and whatever else you can think of that might influence my move! Thank you so much! This will be a big big decision for my life!

I live in Michigan right now, I have all my life, and I will be graduating from college in a year. Winter, and cold weather in general completely depresses me, it always has, and I know that I belong in an area that is going to be warm all year long. I have dreamt of such places as Hawaii of course, but all I hear is how expensive it is and the race issues going on there. My major is creative writing, and my minor is environmental studies...so no help there. I want to go to cosmetology school maybe, but that wont make much money either. Wherever I look, it seems it will be too expensive for me. I wish of being by the ocean, beaches, somewhere liberal and where the people are kind. I know this is a lot to ask, as most of us cant afford this...but isn't there any hope? I can not stay here, I feel restless and trapped, and I have to get out. Any suggestions on places would be very helpful, thanks.

My friends and I (14-16) want to go camping this spring break somewhere in California near the ocean. We want to camp close to a city (not in the middle of the wilderness). Is there a law that prevents teenagers from camping without parents?

You don't need to answer this one but really, it does seem like the palm trees, sunny beaches, and long days is what makes it a paradise in the canyons, but would it be fun to live there?

Is is West or Midwest?

I say it's definitely part of the Jesusland/Heartland/flyover part of the country. And I think, culturally, it's more midwestern than western.
