Is is West or Midwest?

I say it's definitely part of the Jesusland/Heartland/flyover part of the country. And I think, culturally, it's more midwestern than western.

No. The "Heartland" ends at the Kansas/Colorado border. Colorado is a mountain state, part of the west.

All depends upon what part of the state you are in.

On the eastern plains it is more midwestern including Colorado Springs and parts of Denver.

Boulder is like Berkerley California culturally.

Aspen and Vail like Hollywood.

It all just depends. Colorado on the whole is a conservative state that changes often back and forth.
