Where should we stay? Want to park our car and have easy access to public transportation. Don't necessarily have to stay in the city(so expensive!)

Moved here not too NYC not to long ago and flying from JFK soon, I think a cab would be pretty expensive, are there any cheaper alternatives?

I just got back to the UK from a 4 months of touring all around North America & quite frankly, i'm glad to get home. My local fish and chip shop coupled with my local inn offered more culture, conversation, irony and wit in 5 minutes than USA could in months. They are a nation of shamed people that have no shame but are a shame.

My boyfriend is a firefighter and we will be in New York City over Christmas. He enjoys visting other fire houses when we are in different cities. I would like to find out where some of these fire houses are located. If anyone knows where I could find a listing of addresses, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I need an honest description from a NYC resident. I am moving there on FEB. 07. I visited NYC for one week this past Feb. I liked it, but as a tourist. I am really nervous about moving there, it is extremly diferent from where I live. I am going with my husband to complete graduate studies. How is the day-to-day in NYC?

This is an entry level financial analyst position.

In addition, what is the income tax like in the city? Will I be able to get by on this salary?

I just got back from Midtown Manhattan this afternoon. So what is the big whip about Times Square anyway? It's jammed packed with people, cheesy gift shops, bright lights, too many commercialized shops and restaraunts (Red Lobster? Come on, how tacky is that??), and burnt pretzels. All the places to eat in Times Square they have here in Columbus, Ohio. I didn't need to go to Manhattan to get that food.

I found the best places to eat were off the beaten path (Spanky's BBQ was awesome). If you ask me Times Square is a bunch of hype. If you're a teenager it's cool, but what else is there to do? Where are the hot clubs that you hear about? Someone help me see the light, please!!!

First day in a long time that me and my date have a day off together. What to do? Doesn't have to be columbus day related, but holidays on Monday suck cause museums are closed ... and thats typically my first choice.

He's put me in charge of planning our day, I suck at it, help!

Wouldn't mind doing some light hiking in nearby suburbs... any ideas? Or have a lazy day somewhere...

I'm going to New York next month. I've been once before but this time am keen to find things that are 'off the beaten track,' the kind of things that a New Yorker might now about but guide books won't tell you about....
