Going to NYC in a few weeks, just for a weekend. Anyone have some good ideas of where I should go, touristy stuff? It should be free or very low cost. Already planning on seeing Time Square and Ground Zero. Anyone know where I can bump into a celebrity??

I really want to travel America, i wan't to see the real America and have fun along the way, but i don't know anyone who has done this before and so i can't get advice from them about how i even begin to plan this or even how much money i would need without having to work, or is it asy getting work out there while travelling? I would like to end up in New York City for my last visit, any suggestions? Cheers!, p.s any thing outrageous worth doing out there?

I'm staying at 6th ave & W46th St. and need to catch the Statue of Liberty Ferry. Should I take the #1 subway from 42nd St. to South Ferry, or the #4-5 from Grand Central to Battery Park?

I am from CA. I would like to try to find a roommate in New York City. I don't know if it's unrealistic to do that with my income. I saw a lot of listings on craigslist, but the inexpensive rooms are usually around harlem or bronx. I need a little general advice about the city and what it would cost to live there.

the store name is 'Rat' or something like .... they seems to be very famous... I have seen that store on a travel Tv shows (about music, can anyone tell me the name of that show)(the show is about travelling to various locations in the world NY, melbourne, new zealand etc and talked about the alternative music culture over there
