I live on Long Island, just east of NYC, and spend many summer days at Lighthouse Beach, a legal and awesome nude beach about 40 miles east of NYC in Suffolk County. It's directly adjacent to Field 5 of Robert Moses State Park, so simply follow the directions to that area. Once there, walk towards the lighthouse (you can't miss it) and in a few minutes you'll see the signs marking the beginning of the nude beach.

Remember also that it's completely legal for a girl to be topless on any beach, nude or regular, in New York state...that's been the case since the mid 1990's. So if the nude beach isn't for you but topless is OK, head for either Jones Beach on Long Island or any of the NYC beaches.

Of course, you can stay dressed on any beach...LOL!

Enjoy...but remember, it gets cold up here at the beaches this time of year, so hope for a nice warm day for your trip.

Long Beach is probally the easiest one to get to. Take the Long Island Rail Road from Penn Station to Long Beach. The trip takes 50 minutes. Walk across the street stop in Gino's Pizza , and then walk the six short blocks south to the beach or[better idea ] you can take east end busses from the train station [ the ones that look like over sizes school busses] and tell the driver that you need to get to Pacific Blvd and Shore road - nice beach, playground as soon as you get on it, Beware the water is going to start getiing cold about now.

To get some real sand, you would have to go to Jones Beach which is on Long Island. You can take the Long Island RailRoad to get there - but honestly, it would take you so long to get there and get back that it's not worth the trip. You would spend half the day just traveling.
