Going to NYC in a few weeks, just for a weekend. Anyone have some good ideas of where I should go, touristy stuff? It should be free or very low cost. Already planning on seeing Time Square and Ground Zero. Anyone know where I can bump into a celebrity??

a lot of celebrities live and work in New York City. Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams live in Brooklyn, as does Norah Jones. Robert De Niro in tribeca. and you can probably see a bunch of others walking down the streets in SoHo or Greenwich Village. Sometimes, you might even see shows like CSI:NY or Law and Order filming on the streets.

You should totally check out Rockafeller Center, The Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Central Park, Wall Street, Chinatown/Little Italy, the Museums... suggested admission price is like $7, but you can still pay whatever you want, as low as a penny, and you can get in.

have a great weekend here!

You can see plenty of celebs in NYC....upper east side, lower east side...the Village.

Times Square is a must-see.....it depends on what you like to do -- NYC has everything - great museums, great bars, great food, great nightlife....pick up one of the many NYC tourist guides....I definitely suggest picking 3 things per day that you definitely want to do -- maybe even 2....there's no way of seeing everything in a weekend....

I was in Times Square when a celeb bumped into me! Also try to see Rockafellar plaza... it's just pretty. The Met is good too... you don't HAVE to pay. It is on a donation basis, they try to get everyone to pay though. They will ring you up at $10 or whatever but just tell them you are donating $1.

Ground Zero--It will give you a perspective you didn't know was possible. The normal sites are great, but this ground zero will leave you speechless and humbled.
