I'm staying at 6th ave & W46th St. and need to catch the Statue of Liberty Ferry. Should I take the #1 subway from 42nd St. to South Ferry, or the #4-5 from Grand Central to Battery Park?

I'm not walking, taking cab, or bus so please don't suggest that. Thanks

Take the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green, The ticket office for the Statue of Liberty Ferry is INSIDE the Castle Clinton National Monument (the old fort).
The South Ferry station is a bit further away, and is currently undergoing re-construction, so you get routed all over to get into the park.
Beware, Battery park is filled with pick-pockets, and folks selling pirated DVD and fake Rolex.

Take the 1 , it's literally a 4 minute walk to the ferry dock.
If you have time go over to Ellis Island It's more than worth the trip. It's the same boat as the one that goes to the statue.

The 1 To South Ferry is closer to your Hotel and gets you exactly where you want to be. The subway is the fastest and cheapest way to make the trip. The 3 would be faster as it's express.

PS Hoss go F yourself for the second time.

be counted on the meter fee, around $15 to $20. it would be extra cost-effective in case you're taking the subway rather. sort Time sq., you are able to take the downtown (southbound) extensive type a million or "R" subway lines (purple or Yellow Line on the subway map) to South Ferry. The holiday take approximately 20 minutes and the only way fare is $2.25 ($2.50 with a unmarried journey cost ticket). solid success community New Yorker
