my friend is moving to america. any ideas for a cool leaving present 4 the person who already has everything?

Hmm, You could Grab a camera and film a short fun documentary talking about all the good things about your friend.

You could do little interviews with other friends of family that know this person. You could talk about old times and other special/funny memories you both shared, "in-house jokes" etc.

Add a cool sound track, and some old photos and get a friend to help you do the basic editing,

Burn it to a disk ,and stick it inside a fake book or folder titled "memory's" or something

That way your friend will always have a piece of home at hand to play and watch.

Or at the least a framed picture

Your friend that "has everything" will understand that no-THING compares to a good relationship with a human being, or at least the memory of one. This is a good way to touch someones heart.

Depending on how much time you have but I'd say something regional to remember where they are from. Something cheesy and fun like a box or basket full of I heart England (or wherever you are from) t shirts, mugs, postcards, etc. Or possibly a framed picture of their favorite place in the town they are from. Like a pub or special park maybe their house or something.

Otherwise my favorite odd ball gift is a 12 pack of Jones Soda with a personalized label with a special picture. I did that for my parents anniversary. :)

look its hard thinking about a friend moving away but u need to get something that u can both treasure forever or at least until u see them again, i would speak to them about it as it can b expensive but go to a professional photo shop and have them take some portraits of the 2 of u together. U can then buy as many as u want to and it will remind u of the time u spent together and it'll be another happy memory that u will have together. Have fun and always remember - nothings ever the end unless u forget it!!!!!!

Any of the Fodor's books, that can be found at a bookstore, depending on where your friend will be living, staying or intending to visit soon. The Fodors are wonderful guides of things to do, places to stay, where to dine, activities, etc. A really good map of the US, a local newspaper subscription for the town in which your friend will be residing.

NYC has some of the best restaurants - I'm sure the first thing that your friend will want to do is check out some of them. How about getting a gift card to one of the top restaurant groups in NYC? All of the restaurants in this group are wonderful - I have given gift cards as business gifts before and everyone loved them!

Go to your local bookstore and buy a really nice book of pictures of the place your friend will be leaving. Also create a disc or scrapbook of photos chronicling thye friendship and good times you both shared.
