The "average" I get after checking 3 airlines is $400 at the moment, HTH! :)
According to what I see on Orbitz, there are a lot of variables. Do you want a non-stop flight from JFK to LAX? Is one stop ok? Are nearby airports ok? Etc. Etc.
You need to research your flight via orbitz.com, or similar travel website, good luck! :)

Anywhere from $350 to $500 and up. Depends on when you're flying, the airline, and what airport out into NYC you're going to.
