Without Question NYC - There is loads to do there and the people are more real and down to earth - although people from L.A are nice but just a bit removed from reality.
I found that L.A. only had Universal Studios and thats it. The Walk of Fame & The Chinese Theatre were extremely disspointing and small.
Go to NYC - its the mutts nuts!

New York is the best city in the world. You can walk and walk and walk, and never ever be bored.
L.A. absolutely needs a car, in order to drive the great distances between the doifferent neighbourhoods, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Westwood, etc.
If you love driving and have a great sense of direction, L.A has great art galleries and museums, and great shopping (Melrose Avenue), but New York for those who like to walk is really the best!

trust me, ive been to LA. all it is is dirty and smog. hollywood is cool though. try SAN FRANCISCO.
