You should stay in Secaucus, NJ. In most of the hotels you have a free parking. You will save at least 50-100$ by night. And there's a bus stop right in front of most hotels and it takes you in about 20 min (no traffic) right in Port Authority Bus Terminal which is in Times Square and it costs only 5$ roundtrip.

The wikitravel internet site has some solid suggestions. so a techniques as transportation, the main suitable way is the subway and native buses. a lot of human beings in ny, even on the top East part, between the richest aspects interior the city do no longer even very own autos because of the fact parking and gas are so high priced and that's basically too lots of a difficulty. once you're farther from the downtown aspects, there are additionally convey buses that value a top rate $5.50 fare, and commuter trains. many times, maximum of those aspects are secure (many places served by the subway are additionally secure, yet aspects served by extra high priced varieties of transportation are virtually guarenteed to be secure). The earnings is that those centers are many times much less crowded and furnish a extra friendly journey. so a techniques as transportation to/from the airport, many stations are not handicapped accessable, so shop this in thoughts while you're travelling with various heavy bags. Coming from JFK Airport, your maximum suitable wager is probably to take the AirTrain to Jamaica and take the long island Railroad to ny. jointly because it is achievable to take the subway, there are risks to each line: The E from Jamaica can get very overcrowded in the time of height circumstances The J/Z from Jamaica furnish super aboveground perspectives and function a tendency to be much less crowded than the E, yet further in, close to Broadway Junction-East enormous apple, the aspects tend to have bigger crime rates. The A prepare from Howard sea coast, back, jointly as offering some aboveground environment close to the airport, yet, basically like the J/Z, the A is going by using some severe-crime aspects as quickly because it is going into Brooklyn. See the wikitravel internet site for extra counsel on the subject of transportation from JFK, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Airport. so a techniques as factors of interest, attempt the Bronx Zoo, ny Aquarium, Statue of Liberty, the Staten Island Ferry, Coney Island entertainment Park, and the Brooklyn Bridge. For secure practices, there secure and volatile aspects in NYC, and NYC is the main secure enormous city interior the country, yet some aspects to be careful in are East enormous apple, Brownsville, Soundview, and specific sections of the South Bronx. maximum of those aspects have no longer something of pastime in any appreciate.

Stay in Brooklyn. It's nice and cheaper. There are dozens of hotels in the area and you will always be close to the bus or subway. Manhattan is too expensive to get a hotel in. Enjoy your trip, you'll have lots of fun!

Find a place outside the city, like in NJ or upstate NY where it is less expensive and you can still take either train or bus to get to the city.
