Every time we go there it smells like garbage and poop. Blech! Why can't they just clean it up?

Are you from new orleans ? tell me the mayor there says it is going to be a chocolate city then why is it that the chocolate people do not want to help rebuild it? Sorry I should say most not all. but most of the people that are rebuilding are whites and mexicans yet he says its going to be a black city. hmmmmm and the people in new orleans are crying because they dont have a job. then get off your tails and get a job stop laying blame in the mexicans atleast they are willing to work unlike alot of the people in new orleans. NEW ORLEANS you are not rebuilding together you are having it rebuilt just not by new orleans.

I'm going to be going to New Orleans to do the tourist thing starting on the 31st, and coming back the 4th. I'm looking for things to do.

I'm 19, and have never been before. I know that I'm going to the art museum, the zoo, aquarium, and the WW2 museum, but I'm not sure what else to do with my time. Especially at night, since I'm not 21 and I'm not really into the club scene.

I've looked on the main sites about New Orleans, and the ones specifically for tourists, but I can't seem to find anything besides what I mentioned.

Does anyone have any advice as to what I should see and do (money is no object) while I'm there?

Thanks mucho!

Is it OK to travel to New Orleans now ? I heard that most of the area is still destroyed, and that there is a horrible stench (smell) in the air

I'm going to New Orleans next spring from May 17 - May 21, what is the weather usually like? And how should I dress? Lists are always nice. Part of the time I will be at a convention but I may be going out a bit.

[I'll of course only be going provided it doesn't have it's *** kicked by another hurricane.]

My friend and I are planning a trip to NOLA in early August. the price of parking down there is just outrageous! We were considering just flying there. Do you suggest bringing a car? Is everything in walking distance? I know there are trolleys downtown...what are the prices for riding? Thanks!!
