Not me thank God. What a dirty smelly unfriendly city. I was there working as an adjuster after Katrina hit. People for the most part were very unfriendly toward me with few acceptions. Being white and from the North was a great disadvantage in trying to gain confidence with the people I was trying to help. I would have to consider very carefully before choosing to go back.

Kerry, don't let it bring you down that a rude person corrected your grammar. She doesn't realize that you can probably text message an encyclopedia in 30 seconds. When we evacuated, txt msg was the only form of comm. that worked. We can beat anyone in the country at it! Here they give you something like 90 words, to ask your question. So you don't have to abbreviate as much. I'm from beautiful New Orleans. This place is rapidly coming back and booming. We're going to shine on Sept 25 when the Superdome reopens after a 300+million dollar face-lift, on Monday night football, Saints vs. Falcons. Take care, little man. I'm a 50 year old dad with a 12 year old son. Enjoy your day.

Born in New Orleans and raised in Covington from the age of 4, now living in China.

Having lived in or visited all over the world, I can say from experience that New Orleans is one of the most interesting cities in existence today. I haven't been back since Katrina, but my family still lives there, and I can't wait to visit again. My husband is from Africa. When we visited the US we went to New York, Niagara Falls, Vermont, Washington DC, Atlanta, and the beach in Alabama. New Orleans was his favorite place immediately. It gets into your blood.

I am from New Orleans. I lived in CHALMETTE.
Lost it all, no family thank God, but we went back in October after Hurricane K. and stayed in a FEMA trailer for 5 1/2 months with my husband and 2 children, it drove us nuts! We got fed up with the slow, slow, progress in the area and the filth still all around. So we moved away to Nashville, TN in April, and now we have a normal life again. I miss the food the most, there is no place with food like N.O.
