I'm going to New Orleans next spring from May 17 - May 21, what is the weather usually like? And how should I dress? Lists are always nice. Part of the time I will be at a convention but I may be going out a bit.

[I'll of course only be going provided it doesn't have it's *** kicked by another hurricane.]

Any thing cool and bring sunscreen. It hits 90 and above, and that is actual temperature. It is much highter heat index.

From May to (generally) early to mid October, the weather is HUMID--and that's normal for the South (Texas to Fla panhandle).

Light comfy summer clothing is what you want to pack on your trip to New Orleans.

New Orleans, like any large metro city, has it's share of human freaks to be cautious of.

I feel compelled to advise you NEVER walk alone at night by yourself or with another person. It's best to walk with at least 4 or more people; the larger the group, the less a robbery target you and others are.

Also, have your wallet inside your FRONT POCKET, too....just to be safe.

I went in May a few years ago. BRING RAIN GEAR! I think I got wet in places I've never been wet before.
