July and August, when the humidity gets up to 98 and so do the temperatures. Hotels are likely to be pretty vacant when you combine both the heat and hurricane season coming up.

I just got back from there! We stayed at a nice hotel (Hotel Monteleone). It was only $89 during the week and $99 on the weekend for a regular room. We went to Bourbon street at night. Plenty of cheap entertainment there. Then went to the French Quarter and looked at the shops. Also went to Ripley's Believe It or Not museum. I think the tickets were $14 a piece but we were in there atleast 1 1/2 hours.
Have fun!
