I currently live in Kansas and have a potential job offering in the Long Beach area. I have heard good and bad things about it, but I am wondering if it would be a good place to start and raise a family. Any and all responses would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

I am going to go to university there, and hopefully get a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management and I really, really want to work there afterwards! and live there for the rest of my life. is it easy to become a citizen? or to get the work permit? I am Brazilian, I am fluent in 5 languages... etc (not sure if that helps) I know you have to either marry an american citizen or win the green card lottery thing. But is there any other way? please help...

We're planning a trip from Indy to LA Sept. 14th. What time should we get in line so we actually get into the studio? Is there anything else we should do while in the area? Do you recommend a hotel or mode of transportation? Neither of us have been to LA. Please help. :)

I am looking for a safe parking lot to park my car during day time- garaged or with 24 hour security camera in or near downtown LA. I start driving from Union Station area but I heard it's not a very good area. Can anybody recommend me some specific good parking lots (not like "just drive around and see")? Also, someone told me that I should avoid going above (?) 8th st. How about east-west boundary? Where should I avoid going? I will be in there daytime, but I still want to be careful since I am not familiar with the city. One more thing. What's the best map of LA for driving, and where can I buy it?

I am moving to Los Angeles from New Hampshire in a few months. As you can imagine, thats quite a move, and I'm debating on whether I should take my furniture with me (couches, 46" television, bed, appliances, etc) or sell everything and just start out fresh buy scouring craigslist for free or cheap stuff. Another idea is putting everything in storage. Any and all insight is appreciated.

My family and I are coming to California for the first time during my siblings spring break, which is April 6-15. I've looked everywhere and can't find out what the weather is actually like in April, other than it rains, sometimes. Ohio's weather is much different than Californias, so we have no idea what type of clothes to bring, etc. Also, I was wondering if anyone has ever ate at the Geisha House, and if it was a good place for a family to go.

Obviously time is of the essence with a weekend getaway. Although I would love to go to Hawaii, a 6 or 7 hour flight each way would kill our trip. I'm looking for something no more than 3 or 4 hours travel from Los Angeles. Also this is for my wife's birthday, leaving the kids with the grandparents, and midweek is possible.
