Why not take a drive up to Santa Barbara? Beautiful area up there. You could even go up into the Santa Barbara County wine country and check out some of the wineries. That area isn't too far from the Danish community of Solvang, which is always nice to just kind of wander around and window-shop (one place to check out is Mortensen's Bakery -- GREAT stuff) and then you could wander a few miles west to Buellton for dinner at A.J. Spurs or The Hitching Post II, made semi-famous in the movie "Sideways."

I would try the Monrovia Open Air Flea Market which starts from 5pm to 9m, it's fun for the whole Family. On the weekend, you should try some amusment parks or the Orange County Fair although it will be crowded. Or go to the beach!!!

The Redondo Beach Pier. They have an arcade, $10 boat rides or $30 1 hour mini cruises. Universal CityWalk is cool too. Oh and Santa Monica Pier....

If you have the money, go to Disney Hall! Or at least see the building, it's incredible. I've been lucky enough to go to a few concerts there, and the acoustics blew me away. No matter what seat you get the quality of the music is the same.
