I enjoy trying to take some decent photos. What are some good spots to take pictures in LA? I want to take some shots in Hollywood, of the Hollywood sign, Downtown, Chinatown, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive, etc..

There's a spot in Long Beach called Signal Hill which is tall enough for you take pictures of all of Los Angeles North and South. I was there and I took my own pictures. Here's a sample http://flickr.com/photos/95259788@N00/210660330/ Signal hill is off the 405 FWY in Long Beach off Cherry Ave. Check it out!

The planetarium in Griffith Park near Hollywod. It's a beautiful place that was made famous by the movie Rebel Without a Cause with James Dean. Also the Getty villa in Pacific Palisades.

On top of Mulholland Drive. Thats the view you often get in the opening of a movie about LA. Also get up to the Griffith Park Observatory. Be sure the days you shoot are non-smoggy!
