Beyond the obvious...
In LA I would check out Sawtelle Blvd north of Olympic - many interesting Japanese stores, and some good restaurants
In NY I like to stroll down Madison Ave between 57th & 96th. Also Astoria Queens is interesting with lots of Greek restarants

NYC---Thousands of attractions! All depends on what you like, and there is something for everyone.
Statue of Liberty, Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Empire State Building, Times Square, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Madison Square Garden, to name just a few.

NYC..boy there are a lot of places you can go. Start with the basics, central park, governor's island, statue of liberty, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Mets and Yankees Stadium, Soho, Chinatown, Lower East Side, 42nd street, Bronx Zoo.

Hollywood, check out the Kodak theater, walk of fame, and Mann's Chinese Theater. Shop at Rodeo drive, check out the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd St Boulevard. Hang at Venice beach and check out the Boutiques. See art at the Getty....
