I am very interested in moving to Detroit, Michigan USA with my family. My reasons for moving to Detroit is because my friend Henry tells me that that;

1. Detroit and Michigan has a Strong Economy and one of the best economies in the country.

2. Detroit has a low crime rate and is very safe at nighttime.

3. Detroit has excellent mass transportation like the transportation you would see in Chicago with buses and trians.

4. Detroit has excellent public schools with excellent education.

5. Detroit's goverment cares about the people of Detroit and Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick enjoy helping Detroit Residents.

6. Detroit has great entertainment in Downtown Detroit with lots of shopping, retail, and restaurants.

7. Detroit is a very clean city.

What are some other advantages of living in Detroit, Michigan USA? Are there any disadvantages.

Seems like EVERYTHING in Michigan is failing.

Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo.. all of them are going down the drain.

So are there any Michigan cities which arent?

What are some public beaches to visit?
Are there any cool historical places like the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Meadowbrook, Belle Isle, the Ford House in Grosse Pointe? Any big houses to tour?
What are some fun, historically based (if possible) things to do?

In the City of Detroit, there are not too many attractions around other than the art museum, history museum, African American museum, and the science museum. What kinds of attractions would you like to see in Detroit that Detroit does not currenly have to offer at the moment? Would you like to see a Planaterium, an Aquarium, Civil Rights Museum, more statues. and more shopping?

Please be creative and when answering the question, put down what kind of attractions you would like to see when traveling to Detroit.

My brother and his wife live in Windsor, Ontario and my girlfriend and I go down to visit every so often (we are from Toronto), and we usually go down to the waterfront to see the Detroit skyline, but we have never actually gone across to Detroit. We are going down this weekend, and we were thinking of going over to Detroit but my brother and his wife insist that it's dangerous there. I have heard all the stereotypes of Detroit, but are they actually true? If we went downtown, to the park or Belle Isle, would it really be dangerous?

Out of all the major cities in the United States, Detriot is a city that visitors from America are not exicted to come and visit. American travelers who I have met enjoy visiting New York City, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Walt Disney World but none have any interest in visiting Detroit.

What steps can the City of Detroit take to get visitors from all over America to come and visit Detroit?

No Amusments Parks, No city parks with equpiment to play/work with. Schools are run down. No tax base. ( Well, Very little Tax base) So why is Detroit like that in this United states?

Why do most people think negative about Detroit, even when they've never stepped foot in the city? Everything associated with Detroit people instantly frown up. Yeah, Detroit has been on the top of a lot of negative list but that's because that's what the media want's to tell you but if you came to the city yourself you would see that Detroiters are good people and we're certainly a safer city than Vegas.
