Eastisde was the water. Eastside has Belle-Isle. Eastside has Faygo. Eastside has Better Made. Eastside has City Airport. Eastside has Grosse Pointe. Eastside has the DMC. Eastside has the Pespi and Coke Factory. Eastside has the Eastern Market.

Well you get my drift.

EDIT: Anyway, from a life long eastside Detroiter, Woodward is the general dividing line. Geographically though, the border is Woodward in Detroit up to McNichols or 6 Mile, then it becomes John R. rd the rest of the way (through a bit of detroit and all the suburbs John R. runs through).

First off, let me say the PEOPLE WHO DON'T ACTUALLY LIVE WITHIN DETROIT CITY LIMITS NEED TO STOP ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS. The dividing line for the east/west side is Woodward Avenue, NOBODY CONSIDERS GRATIOT AS THE DIVIDING LINE. People tilt there hats for fashion, or gang affiliation in some cases(very rare since the mid 90's). It has nothing to do with the east/west side.

Woodward is the dividing line and the heart of downtown. Hats don't get tilted as much. In areas where there's gang affiliation you'll she shoes hanging from a telephone poll.

Depends...Some Say Woodward Ave other Say Gratiot Ave. West Siders tend to have the better parties. East siders wish they could sneak into Gross Pointe...but their police force is too good. Downriver is where you want to be.
