We are planning a family trip to Colorado (not sure of city) but am curious about its altitude. I have two small kids (8 year old and 5 year old) and I am curious about its altitude. This would be a first time trip and do not know what to expect.

I live in Lakewood (Denver Metro - West side) and would like to take my 11 yo daughter to see the many different colors of Colorado's fall season.

We moved here from Florida two years ago and haven't had the chance to go anywhere until now. We'll be travelling Sat., Oct. 20th - Mon., Oct. 22nd. and I don't want to go too far, maybe an hour and a half - two hour drive at most. I don't want to spend the whole weekend just driving to get there.

Thank you.

Well, this is a big step for me. My mom is getting married and we're moving to Denver, where my step dad lives. Since it is a big city and recorded 199 murders & 2 manslaughters in 2004, I'm kind of scared.

Hi, I am a Aussie traveling to America for the first time and on my hit list is Colorado Springs (due to family ties). Are there any events happening during this month? Is the cog railway open during this time of the year? Where is the nearest hotsprings? Any other info that you think I might like, just add it.

We are young family with two kids and looking to move to Colorado. I don't want to live in Denver-it's too big. Which city is not too small, not too big, is not really expensive and just nice?
Thanks.

Also, if public transportation is accessible-what neighborhoods are close to it (and safe)? Is it possible to find an apt. under $1000 near public transit?

Thank you for your help!
