Hi, I am a Aussie traveling to America for the first time and on my hit list is Colorado Springs (due to family ties). Are there any events happening during this month? Is the cog railway open during this time of the year? Where is the nearest hotsprings? Any other info that you think I might like, just add it.

The Cog runs all year round now. I think the closest hot springs is Indian Springs right near Idaho Springs, about 1 hour west of Denver on I70

Expect snow, but you may get 50 degrees F and brilliant sunshine. The cog railway stays open, but doesn't always run, depending on the weather.

No hot springs nearby. Glenwood Springs (3-4 hour drive in good weather) has a gigantic swimming pool fed by hot springs. Maybe a side trip?

A meal at the Broadmoor Hotel would be memorable, if expensive. There are a few different restaurants there.

I suggest you get online and look up Coloradosprings.com or some such site. That is the only way you will know if there are happenings in that month. The hot springs are in Glenwood springs, a 2 hour drive from Denver.

I would recomend a day trip up to Steamboat or aspen. You'll see most of Colorado that way and really get a feel for what it has to offer. Strawberry springs in steamboat are the best hot springs in Colorado.
