Typically, the best time to see the leaves changing is right now (first two weeks of October). By November, most of the leaves have turned and fallen off the branches and the mountains have some snow.

Here are some links that are local to Denver where people send in their digital photos of the leaves:

I was in the mountains yesterday and saw scattered areas of nice color but most of the leaves were beyond peak. Some areas had trees that had completely lost their leaves. I also saw mountain peaks with a light dusting of snow, so you're not likely to see much fall color during the first couple of weeks of November. Next time, try to plan your trip for about the third or fourth week in September. Have fun :-).

Early or mid October is the best. By November, most are gone. But, enjoy your trip!

oh yes... the aspens are changing quickly... in november, you'll probably catch the last weeks of it...

colorado has many pine and blue spruces that don't change color; but i must say (because i live here), the aspens and shrubs are beautiful - red, orange, yellow - spectactular
